White Tube is a live internet aquarium with user generated content inside ZKM. There are references to Paik's Video Fish, Larcher's Ich Tank, but actually the aquarium is a metaphor of gallery systems online. Also, an aquarium is an alternative, self-made poetic kind of TV inside the living room of people. We thought a lot about the individual fishes. There are only some diamond heads, but much more blue/red fishes, showing us, that a gallery or a mikrogalleri is more about life, rather than death. We are curious of course to find out whether the fishes will survive in the museum. There are local government people which gave us a certificate that the beautiful fishes are living appropriate to the species... would be nice if the government would do this for artist, too. |
